Acne
Photodynamic therapy for acne involves the application of a photosensitiser to the skin followed by light activation. It reduces sebum production, destroys bacteria, and accelerates lesion healing. The treatment is performed in an individually selected combined protocol.
- Recommended number of sessions
- 3-6 sessions at intervals determined individually by the physician
- Physical activity
- Protect the treated area from direct sunlight for 48 hours; avoid swimming pools and saunas until healing
- Indications
- Moderate to severe acne vulgarisAcne resistant to standard therapyAcne with active inflammatory lesions
- Contraindications
- Pregnancy, allergy to the photosensitiser, porphyria, photosensitivity disorders
