What is the difference between a cosmetologist and a dermatologist?
A dermatologist is a physician - they diagnose and treat skin diseases, order tests and prescribe medication. A cosmetologist handles skincare and treatments that improve the condition of healthy skin or support treatment led by a doctor. At De Cute the two roles complement each other within a single plan.
Where do I start if I do not know which treatment I need?
With a cosmetology consultation. During the visit we assess your skin, your current routine and your lifestyle, then propose a plan covering both in-clinic treatments and home skincare. If the problem requires medical diagnosis, we refer you for a dermatology consultation.
How many treatments does it take to see a result?
Most cosmetology therapies are planned as a series of 4–6 treatments every 2–4 weeks, with results building gradually. A single treatment improves hydration and appearance in the short term, but a lasting change in skin condition requires the series plus consistent home skincare.
Are cosmetology treatments suitable for sensitive and vascular skin?
Yes, provided they are chosen correctly. For sensitive and vascular skin we use the HydroPeptide Calming Recovery protocol and Osmosis MD therapies that calm inflammation. We begin by rebuilding the hydrolipid barrier and introduce more active treatments only once the skin has settled.
Can I combine cosmetology treatments with dermatological treatment?
Yes - that combination usually gives the best results and is the basis of our approach. The cosmetologist reviews the plan with the treating doctor so that in-clinic treatments do not conflict with topical or oral therapy.
