Scar treatment
Scars are a significant aesthetic problem. Depending on their aetiology we can tackle them in different ways. Every therapy is matched individually to the type of scar and how long it has been there.
The sooner we start, the better. Post-surgical and caesarean scars can be worked on as soon as the sutures come out. That does not mean nothing can be done with an older scar - a range of modern therapies is available today, and individually combined protocols give the best results.
To reach the best outcome we combine several types of therapy in a single plan. The order and the intervals between treatments follow the stage of scar remodelling - scar tissue matures over months and responds differently at each stage.
The type of scar determines the method. Hypertrophic scars and keloids need an entirely different approach from atrophic post-acne scars, and fresh scars a different one from scars that are years old.
Innovations
Innovations in scar treatment at De Cute Clinic
To achieve the best results, our clinic combines different types of therapy. We use:
- Therapeutic mesotherapyfor our patients we import triamcinolone acetonide, which is unavailable in Poland. It is a therapy dedicated in particular to hypertrophic scars and keloids.
- Tropocollagen mesotherapyallows the scar to be remodelled; it is recommended above all for post-acne, atrophic and older scars, so as to stimulate the skin's natural renewal mechanisms. It is an ideal introduction to other therapies.
- Microneedlinguses a technology that drives preparations supporting remodelling into the scar.
- Micropunctureprecise puncturing of the scar, which loosens the tissue within it and stimulates fibroblasts to produce collagen.
- Cross TCAa medical peel applied directly into atrophic post-acne scars. The procedure is performed by dermatologists only.
- Fractional laseremits high-energy pulses that smooth the scar while stimulating it at the same time.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
When should scar work begin?
The sooner the better. Post-surgical and caesarean scars can be worked on as soon as the stitches come out. Does that mean nothing can be done about an older scar? Absolutely not. Many modern therapies are available today, but the best results come from individually matched combined protocols.
Can anything still be done with an old scar?
Yes. Many modern therapies are effective on scars that are years old - tropocollagen mesotherapy, micropuncture, Cross TCA and fractional laser. With older scars, individually combined protocols spread over several months give the best results.
How does treating hypertrophic scars differ from atrophic ones?
Hypertrophic scars and keloids are an excess of tissue - we work to reduce it, mainly with therapeutic mesotherapy using triamcinolone acetonide. Atrophic scars, typical of acne, are a loss of tissue - here the aim is to stimulate collagen production, so we use Cross TCA, micropuncture, tropocollagen and fractional laser.
Are scar treatments painful?
Most treatments are performed under local anaesthetic, as a cream or an injection depending on the procedure. Patients usually describe the sensation as discomfort rather than pain. We agree the form of anaesthetic before the treatment, during qualification.
How long does scar therapy take?
We usually plan a series of 3–6 treatments 4–8 weeks apart, and assess the full result several months after the series ends. Scar tissue remodels slowly, so judging the result immediately after a treatment is not meaningful.
